Sourcing Our Teas: A Commitment to quality and Sustainability

At TAHLIA, we believe exceptional tea starts long before it reaches your cup. Every step of the journey—from the fields where tea is cultivated to the teapot—is meticulously managed to ensure that our teas are grown, harvested, and processed in ways that prioritize the health of both people and the planet. We're committed to delivering only the finest organic, non-GMO teas, sourced from farms that prioritize sustainable and ethical practices around the world.

What Does "Sustainable Tea" Really Mean?

Sustainability at TAHLIA means more than reducing waste - it's about;

  • Nurturing ecosystems

  • Supporting farming communities

  • Ensuring that the methods used to grow, harvest, and process the tea are environmentally responsible.

The farms we partner with focus on biodiversity, preserving soil health, and minimizing water usage. By selecting teas from these sustainably managed farms, we play a part in safeguarding natural resources and reducing the overall environmental impact of tea cultivation.

Our partner farms use organic methods, shunning harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in favor of natural alternatives like composting. These sustainable practices not only promote healthy soil and vibrant, flavorful tea leaves but also ensure that our teas have a positive impact on the planet.

Why Organic Matters

Organic certification is more than just a label—it represents our dedication to quality and environmental responsibility. Certified organic teas are cultivated without the use of synthetic chemicals, ensuring that there are no harmful residues and that only the purest tea leaves end up in your cup.

Organic farming also protects water sources, prevents soil erosion, and fosters biodiversity, creating healthier ecosystems overall.

By choosing organic tea, you’re supporting agricultural practices that benefit both the planet and your body. Free from artificial inputs, organic tea is cleaner, more natural, and richer in flavor and nutrients.

Non-gmo: What It Means for You and the Planet

We’re passionate about offering teas that stay true to their natural roots. By offering non-GMO teas, we provide a product that remains true to its origins, unaltered by modern genetic manipulation. That means that TAHLIA teas are free from genetically engineered ingredients, ensuring that you enjoy a tea that has been grown and processed using only traditional farming methods.

Non-GMO at TAHLIA is about transparency, integrity, and quality. It means you’re drinking tea that’s as close to its natural state as possible. By embracing non-GMO farming practices, we also support agricultural diversity and small-scale farmers who rely on traditional and organic methods to grow their crops.

Ethical Sourcing and Empowering Communities

Our commitment to quality goes hand in hand with our ethical sourcing philosophy. We work with farms that are part of community-based initiatives that provide workers with fair wages, access to education, and healthcare. Supporting these initiatives allows us to create a positive impact on the communities where our teas are grown.

TAHLIA's ethical sourcing ensures that workers are treated with dignity and respect, while local communities thrive as a result of our partnerships. Beyond fair treatment, we seek farms that actively practice sustainable development, helping to protect the environment while improving the quality of life for their workers.

The Future of Tea is Sustainable

At TAHLIA, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from how we source our teas to how we package them. As we continue to grow, we remain focused on protecting the planet and contributing to a better future for generations to come.

Even though we are not yet certified organic, rest assured that every tea we source is organically certified. This means that while our brand itself is still on the journey towards full certification, the ingredients we use are sourced from suppliers that meet rigorous organic standards. These teas are grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, ensuring both environmental sustainability and a high-quality product for you.

Additionally, the term "organic natural flavor" refers to a blend of flavoring materials that are either organic or compliant with the organic certification standards. Organic-certified flavors are made from at least 95% organic materials, with any remaining percentage coming from natural, non-GMO compliant ingredients. This allows for clean labeling, and ensures that the flavorings are free from artificial additives while maintaining their rich, full-bodied taste. Some of our teas may also include "natural organic compliant flavors," which are derived from natural sources and meet the standards of organic compliance programs.
